Early Works, Utilities, Council Interfaces and Engineering Management
2016 - Ongoing
The B-Line Program is an integrated package of transport service and infrastructure improvements designed to provide more reliable bus journeys between Mona Vale and the Sydney CBD.
ARCH’s initial engagement was for the provision of Project Management to deliver the early works component, which included geotechnical and utility investigations. ARCH identified the scope of works, engaged specialist contractors and managed delivery and outcomes that ensured the tight NBBP budgets and timeframes were met.
Following the early works, ARCH began the process of engaging with and building relationships with the utility organisations. This enabled the NBBP to reach agreement on conflict resolution and pathways to be used to complete the project works. This function was handed over to the main contractor once they were engaged.
To ensure the NBBP was successfully integrated with the various communities along the route, ARCH negotiated with three separate Councils to identify and reach agreement on the delivery of initiatives that provided ‘value add’ outcomes. Such initiatives included the activation of improved or new pedestrian and cycle paths / links, off-set tree planting strategies and public art-work installations.
Due to the success of NBBP, after its launch in November 2017, TfNSW decided to develop an option to extend the service to Newport. ARCH provided the Engineering Management for both the completion of the concept design and technical input into the Review of Environmental Factors (REF).
